Something about staring at art for hours on end is completely exhausting.  I can easily spend a day at MOMA (for example) and feel as if I had worked a twelve hour day by the end of the afternoon.  Art mesmerises, inspires, and drains my soul.  In a good way.

I have a dear friend on the east coast that I rarely get to see — simply because we live on opposite sides of this giant country.  Over the summer I was able to stop by and spend some time catching up.   She has a lovely home and a garden that she has created from scratch…I couldn’t resist taking my camera out there at the end of the day while the sun was setting.

It’s really wonderful to have friends you are able to laugh with as if many months or years had not passed since your last visit (wouldn’t you all agree?).

Two weeks ago, I was able to climb on a plane and head south…back home.  It almost didn’t happen, but I seem to be the most blessed girl in the world since it DID HAPPEN.  It happened, and it was wonderful.  My dear friend, Mary met me at the airport and we drove off to her home for several days of absolutely nothing but happiness [involving lots of giggles, food, drinks and good times].  Her husband was kind enough to put up with our  girly shenanigans for a few days.  These two are truly some of the most kind hearted people you could ever meet.  It was so refreshing to spend some time in their home.
